SUMMARY:Organ Fairchild
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nOrgan Fairchild \nSaturday\, October 25\, 2025 8pm \n$15.00ad/$20.00 \n \n \n \nHailed as a “fast-rising NY band” by Live For Live Music\, and a group that’s “making waves in the scene” by JamBase\, Organ Fairchild craft their organ-trio-meets-rock-band sound — described as “adventurous\, vital and alive” by Glide Magazine — by synthesizing influences ranging from The Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers to The Meters\, Steely Dan and Medeski Martin & Wood. And when they’re on stage completely captivating an audience without a bass player – and nobody singing – there is no confusing them for any other artist on today’s scene. \nAs Atlanta’s FunkCity writes\, “Get ready to be bowled over by this terrific trio – old school funk fusion with new era notions of jam.”

SUMMARY:The Claudettes - The Cave Stage
DESCRIPTION:The Cave presents \nThe Claudettes \nTuesday\, October 14\, 2025 7pm \n$15ad/$20door \n \n \n \nSix albums into their lauded career\, the Claudettes (of Chicago) continue to put a fascinating new spin on American roots music. Blues and R&B are laced with punk spirit and film-noir moods to create the band’s singular “garage cabaret” sound. The Claudettes have earned worldwide acclaim with their recordings and concerts that are equal parts heart\, musicianship and theatrical flair. Force-of-nature vocalist Rachel Williams (who dominates the stage like a glam-rock rebirth of Annie Lennox and renowned pianist/songwriter Johnny Iguana join the positively heroic rhythm section of Zach Verdoorn (bass\, guitar\, vocals) and Michael Caskey (drums). Outside the Claudettes\, Iguana has toured with Junior Wells and Otis Rush\, played on many Grammy-nominated albums and recorded with Buddy Guy\, Junior Wells\, Derek Trucks\, Mick Jagger\, Keith Richards\, Johnny Winter and more. Johnny is also composer of the score for the Emmy-winning smash FX/Hulu series “The Bear.” \n \n“Chicago’s original recipe band…The Claudettes’ sonic playing field is the blues and everything after\, all tastefully and artfully blended together….Perhaps the band’s greatest super power: songwriting.”—NPR Music \n \n“A skewed cabaret band of blues\, jazz and rockabilly…a sensibility that feels equal parts James Dean and David Lynch.”—Minneapolis Star-Tribune \n \n“Holy Mackerel…I hear so many levels of what I consider amazing creativity…I hear touches of Jerry Lee Lewis at his most manic…of cinema…of multiple genres wrapping around one another…These guys are the B-movies of the music world—maybe not understood now\, but in the future\, the kings and queens of the universe!”—Frank Gutch Jr.\, No Depression \n \n“The Claudettes Go Out! shows the band’s mastery of every era of American music\, from the roots of the blues to today’s modern pop….the Claudettes pen standards for a new generation.”—J. SUMMARY:Robbie Fulks
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nRobbie Fulks \nTuesday\, October 14\, 2025 7pm\, 5pm Doors \n$25.00 \n \n \n \nRobbie Fulks is a singer\, recording artist\, instrumentalist\, composer\, and songwriter. His most recent release\, 2017’s Upland Stories\, earned year’s-best recognition from NPR and Rolling Stone among many others\, as well as two Grammy® nominations\, for folk album and American roots song (“Alabama At Night”). \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFulks was born in York\, Pennsylvania\, and grew up in a half-dozen small towns in southeast Pennsylvania\, the North Carolina Piedmont\, and the Blue Ridge area of Virginia. He learned guitar from his dad\, banjo from Earl Scruggs and John Hartford records\, and fiddle (long since laid down in disgrace) on his own. He attended Columbia College in New York City in 1980 and dropped out in 1982 to focus on the Greenwich Village songwriter scene and other ill-advised pursuits. \nIn 1983 he moved to Chicago and joined Greg Cahill’s Special Consensus Bluegrass Band. He taught music at Old Town School of Folk Music from 1984 to 1996\, and worked as a staff songwriter on Music Row in Nashville from 1993 to 1998. His early solo work — Country Love Songs (1996) and South Mouth (1997) — helped define the “alternative country” movement of the 1990s. His music from the last several years hews mainly to acoustic instrumentation; it returns him in part to his earlier bluegrass days\, and extends the boundaries of that tradition with old-time rambles and sparely orchestrated reflections on love\, the slings of time\, and the troubles of common people. \nRadio: multiple appearances on WSM’s “Grand Ole Opry”; PRI’s “Whadd’ya Know”; NPR’s “Fresh Air\,” “Mountain Stage\,” and “World Cafe”; and the syndicated “Acoustic Cafe” and “Laura Ingraham Show.” TV: PBS’s Austin City Limits; NBC’s Today\, Late Night with Conan O’Brien\, Later with Carson Daly\, and 30 Rock. From 2004 to 2008 he hosted an hourlong performance/interview program for XM satellite radio\, “Robbie’s Secret Country.” Artists who have covered his songs include Sam Bush\, Kelly Hogan\, Andrew Bird\, Mollie O’Brien\, Rosie Flores\, John Cowan\, and Old 97s. \nRobbie’s writing on music and life have appeared in GQ\, Blender\, the Chicago Reader\, DaCapo Press’s Best Music Writing anthologies for 2001 and 2004\, Amplified: Fiction from Leading Alt-Country\, Indie Rock\, Blues and Folk Musicians\, and A Guitar and A Pen: Stories by Country Music’s Greatest Songwriters. As an instrumentalist\, he has accompanied the Irish fiddle master Liz Carroll\, the distinguished jazz violinist Jenny Scheinman\, and the New Orleans pianist Dr. John. As a producer his credits include Touch My Heart: A Tribute to Johnny Paycheck (Sugar Hill\, 2004) and Big Thinkin’ by Dallas Wayne (Hightone\, 2000). Theatrical credits include “Woody Guthrie’s American Song” and Harry Chapin’s “Cottonpatch Gospel.” He served twice as judge for the Winfield National Flatpicking Guitar competition. He tours yearlong with various configurations. \nBesides country and bluegrass music\, Robbie is fiercely fond of Charles Mingus\, P.G. Wodehouse\, quantum mechanics\, his wife Donna\, comedy in almost all forms\, cooking\, swimming laps\, the past\, Arthur Schopenhauer\, Universal horror movies\, his grandson and even his sons\, coastal towns in the off-season\, and rye whiskey\, though in nothing like that order.

SUMMARY:Eilen Jewell & Big Sandy & His Fly Rite Boys
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nEilen Jewell & Big Sandy & His Fly Rite Boys \nSunday\, October 5\, 2025 5pm $35.00 3pm Doors \n \n \nEILEN JEWELL \nHailed by American Songwriter as “one of America’s most intriguing\, creative\, and idiosyncratic voices\,”Eilen Jewell rises from the ashes on her captivating new album\,Get Behind The Wheel\, picking up the pieces of her shattered world and finding new purpose and meaning after watching her marriage\, her band\, and what felt like her entire career fall apart in a series of spectacular\, heartbreaking implosions.Co-produced by multi-instrumental wizard Will Kimbrough (Todd Snider\, Hayes Carll)\, the collection pushes the acclaimed singer and songwriter’s trademark blend of vintage roots-noir into more psychedelic territory\, with spacious\, cinematic arrangements complementing her revelatory explorations of grief\, loss\, resilience\, and redemption. An Idaho native\,Jewell built her career the old fashioned way\, touring relentlessly with the kind of undeniable live show that converts the uninitiated into instant acolytes. Over the course of nine albums\, she’s criss crossed the globe countless times and shared bills with the likes of LucindaWilliams\, Loretta Lynn\, Mavis Staples\, WandaJackson\, George Jones\, and Emmylou Harris.Rolling Stone lauded Jewell’s “clever writing\,” while NPR declared that she has a “sweet and clear voice with a killer instinct lurking beneath the shiny surface\,” andThe Washington Post mused that “if Neko Case\, Madeleine Peyroux andBillie Holiday had a baby girl who grew up to front a rockabilly band\, she’d probably sound a lot like Eilen Jewell.” \n \nBig Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys \n \nSince forming in 1988 in Southern California\, Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys have become one of the world’s most beloved Americana/Roots acts\, drawing from the deep musical waters that flow just beneath the surface of Rock & Roll’s fertile soil. A childhood passion for Country\, Doo-Wop\, and Rhythm & Blues 45s led Sandy (bornRobert Williams) to pursue a singing career as a teenager\, beginning a life in music that continues decades later. And as his personal record collection continues to grow (75\,000 and counting)\, so does the depth of the musical influences that stream through his songwriting and singing style. A critically acclaimed tribute to Tex-Mex hero Freddy Fender\, released at the beginning of the 2020lockdown\, points the way forward for Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys as they continue on a path of musical growth. After nearly 35 years on the road\, and more than two dozen releases to their credit\, they remain key figures on the ever-changing Americana circuit\, both on record and in live appearances.

SUMMARY:The Outcrops - Sportsmens Stage
DESCRIPTION:The Outcrops \nSaturday\, September 27\, 2025 8pm $10 \nout·crop /ˈoutˌkräp/ : an outstanding rock formation \n \nDeep in the woods of Northern New Jersey\, The Outcrops have emerged as a force to be reckoned with. This tight-knit group of musicians weaves together the soulful sounds of blues\, the infectious rhythms of funk and soul\, and the electrifying energy of rock’n’roll\, creating a sonic experience that had them named “Band of the Year” (Aquarian\, 2020). \n \nAt the core of The Outcrops are the dynamic duo of Bryan Schroeder and Cassidy Rain. Bryan\, with his searing lead guitar\, effortlessly weaves intricate melodies that fall somewhere between the soulful prowess of Derek Trucks and the transcendent vibes of Jerry Garcia. Cassidy brings real and raw powerhouse vocals that fans have compared to artists like Bonnie Raitt\, Susan Tedeschi\, & Grace Potter\, as well as her rhythmic guitar work that is in constant conversation with the band. \n \nMax Adler\, a Montclair University music graduate\, found his home behind the drum kit\, driving the band’s infectious grooves. Qaasim Munoz holds it down on the bass guitar adding a unique flavor to the band’s sonic tapestry. \n \nThe Outcrops’ journey has been marked by milestones\, such as sharing the stage with acts like The Outlaws\, Three Dog Night\, Alexis P. Suter\, Kat Wright\, and King Solomon Hicks\, to gracing the lineups of festivals such as Rock\, Ribs\, & Ridges\, the Anglesea Blues Festival\, Musikfest\, and Meeting of the Minds. Their performance earned them 1st place in the 2nd Annual SOPAC Blues Challenge back in 2017. \n \nCASSIDY RAIN – LEAD VOCALS / RHYTHM GUITAR \nCassidy’s musical journey began before she can remember – she was singing and memorizing songs when she started talking. At the age of 5\, her parents got her a tape recorder that she used constantly to record songs she heard and sang. By the time she was 10 years old\, she had already started writing her own songs. At 14\, she picked up the acoustic guitar and it became her fondest companion; she took it everywhere with her – to school\, to the beach\, everywhere. Her guitars have their share of knicks and bruises from their adventures. \n \n \nBRYAN SCHROEDER – LEAD GUITAR / BACKUP VOCALS \nBryan’s journey in music began early as well\, attending his Dad’s band’s shows from a very young age. There are photos of him and his cousin on stage with his Dad’s band\, toy guitars in hand. However\, Bryan’s first musical venture was in drumming\, and he played drums for years before learning to play guitar. He began to really hone in on the guitar when he moved to California and was able to spend hours playing every day. \n \nMAX ADLER – DRUMS / BACKUP VOCALS \nMax rounds out The Outcrops rhythm section with a fluid groove that carries the band along like the ebbs and flows of a river. Like the great blues\, soul and rock bands of the 60’s and 70’s\, his style has a foundation in Jazz. Max was a student of the Jazz program at Montclair State University in New Jersey and he uses his knowledge and skills to add flavors and dynamics\, imprinting his style on the band’s sound. \n \nQAASIM MUNOZ – BASS GUITAR \nQaasim\, otherwise known as “Q”\, adds a uniquely funky & jazzy style of playing to The Outcrops. Besides playing music\, Q is also a professional fine artist.

SUMMARY:Sarah Borges - At The Cave
DESCRIPTION:The Cave presents \nSarah Borges \nFriday\, September 19\, 2025 8pm \n$15.00ad/$20.00door \n \n \n \nOne way or another\, Sarah Borges connects with casual mastery. Whether it’s with the comrades she’s collaborated with over nearly 20 sparkling years of music-making\, or the vivid portraits of people’s lives – and occasionally her own – she’s sketched in scores of emotionally resonant songs. But most of all\, Borges has built a loyal following by connecting\, through her own charismatic\, down-to-earth spirit\, with her audience – whether they’re longtime fans from back when she broke through with her terrific “Silver City” debut in 2004\, or newcomers just now joining the party. \n \nFast forward to the early months of 2020\, when the life-altering global pandemic hit populations hard. Closer to home\, the crisis not only suddenly\, jarringly halted performers touring or playing shows large or small\, but also quashed the creative chemistry that comes from musicians getting together and jamming in the same room. As an artist whose lifeblood flowed from these real-life exchanges of camaraderie and community\, the Boston-based Borges was faced with perhaps the most daunting question of her professional career: How to connect and continue as a vital and viable working artist amid a frightfully uncertain future fraught with unknowns. \n \nThat’s where the aptly named brand new album\, “Together Alone\,” comes in. In a true-life twist on the old saying\, “when life gives you lemons …”\, a homebound Borges did the one thing she knew how to do better than almost anything else. She picked up her guitar and started writing songs such as “Wasting My Time\,” which serves as a thematic linchpin of sorts for the new album. Set to a measured\, ruminative gait and carried on dark currents of electric guitar and Hammond organ\, the lyrics feel like a gathering storm. “It’s been awhile now since I’ve seen my friends / Don’t know when I’m gonna see ‘em again\,” Borges sings with the kind of pensive ache her twang and torch-lit voice was born for. “Without them around / It’s harder to pretend that I know where I’m going.” With the new normal being an isolating life in lockdown limbo\, the song seems to wonder whether time\, in this context\, is actually wasting us\, rather than the other way around. \n \nIt was\, for Borges\, a scary proposition. But the solitary confinement that necessitated writing alone also felt liberating. “I think my self-editing tool is always fierce\, and it’s what prevents me from being more prolific\,” Sarah says. “I feel like I’m always writing in blood\, like I have to stick to what I wrote the first time. But when you’re home alone\, and it’s a pandemic\, and you don’t know if anyone will ever even hear the songs\, all bets are off. You can write what you want and feel free to cross it out as many times as you want.” Even the job Borges took as an airport courier during the pandemic to keep the bills paid and home hearth burning proved creatively useful. The temporary gig translated into a boisterous new track\, namely the lighthearted rave-up\, “She’s A Trucker\,” based on the multi-Boston Music Award winner’s four-wheeling across state lines\, carrying occasionally strange cargo. Recently\, “I drove to Albany to deliver an airplane engine piece\, and another day it was ocular tissue – totally weird\, random stuff\,” she says with a laugh. “But all that time\, I was thinking about my music. With anything you love to do\, you always have to find a way forward if you can.” Besides\, she adds\, “there aren’t many lady truck driver songs\, so I thought I’d try my hand at one.” \n \nSpeaking of hands\, Sarah received a huge one in the person of her longtime mentor Eric “Roscoe” Ambel\, the venerable producer and guitarist who’s played with everyone from Joan Jett & The Blackhearts to Steve Earle and The Dukes. More recently\, Ambel’s been Sarah’s band mate and co-conspirator in addition to his usual job running his Cowboy Technical Services Recording Rig studio in Brooklyn\, NY. “Sarah and I had just come back from an incredible musical experience on the ‘Outlaw Country Cruise\,’ in February [2020]\, ” recalls Ambel of the traveling multi-artist\, fan-filled getaway. But as the pandemic permeated life and gigs were canceled\, the water-bound jaunt started to feel like it was the last good time anybody was going to have for a very long time. To get a sense of just how good a time was had\, check out the rollicking new tribute to the cruise\, “You Got Me On The Boat\,” a sunny slice of hedonistic escapism co-written with Sarah’s boyfriend\, Bottle Rockets bassist Keith Voegele\, who contributes bass and vocals across several of the album’s tracks. \n \nThat all changed when the state’s powers-that-be locked down the studio. With the pandemic scuttling any chance of working live at CTS\, the two were forced to brainstorm what Ambel amusingly refers to as the “MacGyver Method” of recording songs\, referencing the hit ‘80s TV series. Except that the idea involved a hell of a lot more than a rubber band\, stick of gum\, and strategically employed paper clip to escape the clutches of the villainous COVID-19. Here’s how it worked: One by one\, Borges would send along her home-recorded guitar and vocal demos – with Sarah singing into her iPhone\, and utilizing her clothes closet as a vocal isolation booth – to Ambel’s home recording setup. He’d listen carefully to the rudimentary tracks\, and then sort out who in his musical Rolodex might play what\, where\, when\, and how. The tricky part\, Ambel says\, was that “I had to think of not only great players\, but great players that could do a very good job recording themselves at home.” \n \nAmong those ready\, willing\, and able was Voegele\, residing in Springfield\, Illinois. Another was Keith Christopher\, Ambel’s longtime Yayhoos band mate currently playing bass with Lynyrd Skynyrd\, and living in upstate New York. A talented trio of drummers scattered from New York to Nashville also sent in dispatches. To ensure a rapport between far-flung musicians that felt organic\, “I got songs to them in a very specific building order. Basically\, we all went back to the ‘70s in recording style\, working on one song at a time until it was complete. Time and geography didn’t really matter\,” says Ambel. “It was exciting to be on the virtual receiving end of all these great songs and performances.” One unforseen benefit to recording remotely? “I’ve gotten a lot more confident playing solo through writing this record\,” says Borges. “Because I wrote on acoustic guitar\, the songs had to be able to stand on their own enough to make a demo. Plus\, my callouses have gotten much better!” \n \nGiven the circumstances\, it’s all the more remarkable that roughed-up romps like “Lucky Day” (a metaphorical love song about how the search for true romance can prove as elusive as a winning lottery ticket)\, have the bracing\, flesh-and-blood feel of like-minded musicians in sync. The chemistry doesn’t sound remote at all. Paramount to the entire enterprise\, of course\, were the fresh ideas Borges put to paper and the spirited music she envisioned in the first place. “Sarah’s a fearless writer and performer\,” says Ambel\, “and she’s a very good musician.” “It feels like me\,” says Borges\, who calls making the record nothing short of “a lifeline.” “The record feels really comfortable\, like a second skin already. It’s a good representation of who I am\, both musically and personally.” \n \nIn fact\, contemplative tracks such as “Something To Do” and “13th Floor” are candid reflections that cut to the marrow of who she was\, and who she’s always becoming. “On ‘13th Floor\,’ I was thinking about risk\,” says Borges\, “I’m still trying to sort out what six years alcohol-free means to me\, and I still draw on some of those feelings from ‘drunk-town’ for songs. And ‘Something To Do’ – recorded almost entirely during lockdown – harkens back to those days when calling a random number on a bar wall might have seemed like a good idea.” Ironically\, to find inspiration for the album’s final song\, “Together Alone\,” that had no lyrics or music attached to its title\, Borges and her band hit the road for a few select\, socially distanced dates in the Midwest this autumn. The shows\, her first in over a year\, proved challenging amid varying statewide vaccine or mask mandates (or lack thereof). But she didn’t return home empty-handed. \n \n“Together Alone\,” written across\, and about\, dividing distances on the road\, is a bittersweet lament of loss\, memory\, and separation rendered in waltz time. “It’s the little things I’m missing / Now that they’re gone\,” Borges muses over a mournful melody. “Lines across faces\, and photos from places / Our shadows growing long.” But as anyone familiar with Sarah’s songs knows\, genuinely soulful music that connects with us — and connects us to each other — can simultaneously steal\, and heal\, hearts. Ultimately\, if “Together Alone” carries any message or lesson\, it’s about finding the courage to face the hard times head on and not give in or up. And it’s about caring enough to bring the things that you miss\, and that matter\, back to life. –Jonathan Perry

Ten Cent Howl \nThursday\, September 4\, 2025 7pm\, 5pm Doors \n$15ad/$20door \n \nBuckwheat Zydeco Jr.‘s story is one of musical inheritance\, hard work\, and dedication to preserving the spirit of zydeco music. From a young boy learning the craft of music by ear\, to becoming a Grammy-winning artist\, he continues to make his mark on the world stage. With his band and his son by his side\, he is ensuring that zydeco music will continue to inspire and uplift audiences for generations to come. Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. was born into a musical family in Lafayette\, Louisiana\, a city deeply rooted in the sounds of zydeco and Creole culture. His father\, Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural\, Sr.\, was a legendary figure in zydeco music\, and Buckwheat\, Jr. was immersed in music from a young age. \n Following the death of his father in 2016\, Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. assumed the mantle of his father’s musical legacy\, continuing to lead the Ils Sont Partis Band. This band\, which was originally formed by Stanley Dural\, Sr.\, is a tribute to the vibrant tradition of zydeco and remains a vital force in spreading the genre’s infectious rhythms worldwide. Buckwheat\, Jr. now performs with his father’s iconic custom monogrammed accordion and shares the stage with his son\, Kyle Anthony Dural\, who plays the rubboard. This family connection is deeply meaningful to Buckwheat\, Jr.\, who reflects\, “Everywhere I go\, my son is on my right. It really is a blessing.” \n Buckwheat Zydeco Jr.’s career has been marked by significant milestones\, both alongside his father and as a solo artist. He shared the stage with some of the most renowned figures in music\, including Eric Clapton\, Paul Simon\, Willie Nelson\, Mavis Staples\, Albert Collins\, Buddy Guy\, Dwight Yoakam\, and Los Lobos\, to name a few. Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. and The Ils Sont Partis Band won the 2024 Best Regional Roots Music Album – New Beginnings award at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards\, and also in 2024 got inducted at the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. \n Ten Cent Howl has been making waves in the Buffalo Americana scene for over two decades with their original music. The Howl is known for their riveting original songs as well as their extensive catalogue of cover songs ranging from folk to roots to country to classic rock. Ten Cent Howl can make you dance\, sing\, laugh and cry with their tremendous musicianship\, craftsmanship\, and harmony. “Sounding like they come from a simpler time\, unspoiled by the marvels of modern technology\, Ten Cent Howl offers a refreshing glimpse into rural American living through their vacillatingly uplifting and melancholy songs\, many of which are about love lost and found.” – Amy Lieberman – NYSMusic.com \n Since 2007 The Big Easy in Buffalo has brought New Orleans and Louisiana music and culture to the Western New York region several times a year for free and low-cost live performance\, as well as music education and mentoring for local musicians\, students\, and the community. Through The Big Easy in Buffalo thousands of students\, dozens of local bands\, and countless audience members in Western New York have been exposed to this unique American culture. The Big Easy in Buffalo is made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Hochul and the NYS Legislature\, Erie County\, buffalo.fm\, Goldfarb Financial\, National Fuel Gas Co.\, Dick & Jenny’s\, and Sportsmen’s Tavern.

They have become fesƟval favorites\, consistently performing with some of\nthe world’s biggest acts\, in a world seldom traveled by your typical “tribute” band. Black\nSabbitch were hand-picked by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne to open the inaugural Ozzfiesta and\nby Dave Grohl to play Cal Jam with Foo Fighters and Iggy Pop\, aŌer which the FooFighters\nshared photos of Black Sabbitch saying “we were spellbound.”\nThey have played mulƟple headlining sets at Psycho Las Vegas and The Maryland Doom Fest and\nmost recently were chosen by Paul Stanley to play The 2022 Kiss Kruise. Nick Zinner of The Yeah\nYeah Yeahs chose Black Sabbitch to headline his curated fesƟval Bedrocktoberfest and legendary\nstreet arƟst Shepard Fairey had Black Sabbitch open his Black Sabbath retrospecƟve\, Never Say\nDie. Electroclash superstar Peaches recently sat in as lead vocalist with Black Sabbitch for a\nspecial two-night run in Los Angeles. \n \n“Finally Black Sabbitch took the stage and preƩy much melted everyone’s faces. The all-female\nBlack Sabbath were not only talented — nailing every note of the legendary group’s familiar\nrepertoire — but were capƟvaƟng to an almost distracƟng level’. – The LA Weekly \n \n“Those who seek the purest source of the one-of-a-kind Sabbath sound never walk away from a\nSabbitch live show feeling like they seƩled for a dollar store version of the Birmingham four.\nSabbitch offers an experience that even Ozzy and the boys couldn’t provide. AŌer adding up\nSabbitch’s raw musical talent\, their ability to play the songs Sabbath were forced to raise to the\nraŌers…the only label you could possibly hang on Black Sabbitch would have to be\n“undeniable.” – NEW TIMES Phoenix \n \n“Black Sabbitch restores the swing and speeds (to the Sabbath catalogue) capturing the potency\nand intensity of the original Sabbath.” – Times Union – Albany NY\n“Don’t call Black Sabbitch a tribute. They are the female version of Black Sabbath. They bring a\nnew shine to old doom. Indeed\, they rock the living hell out of Sabbath’s catalog.” – San Diego\nReader \n \n“Cover bands\, tribute bands and the rest\, we don’t need most of ’em\, but we do need Black\nSabbitch.” – Organ Thing \n \n“We were spellbound.” – Dave Grohl / Foo Fighters \n \nWebsite / Social Media:\nwww.blacksabbitch.com \n \nhƩps://www.facebook.com/blacksabbathgirls\nhƩps://www.instagram.com/black_sabbitch/ \n \nVideo Links: \n \nEPK: hƩps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl9KrIvX_Sc\nhƩps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyuSqyKwJsE\nhƩps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DjH5iol1Zg\nhƩps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyNIsnhOdjU\nhƩps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=361zPMo7Rx4\nhƩps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJcVEWM5mt0

SUMMARY:Eddie 9V
DESCRIPTION:Funtime Presents & Sportsmens present \nEddie 9V \nSunday\, August 10\, 2025 7pm $25.00ad($28.50w/fee) $30.00 at the door \n5pm Doors \n \n \n \n \nAs far back as he can remember\, Capricorn Studios was calling Eddie 9V. As a kid scanning the\nsleeves of his favorite vinyl records\, this fabled facility in Macon\, Georgia\, was always the secret\ningredient\, adding a little grit and honey to every song born on its floor. Capricorn and the\nbands who blew through it urged the Atlanta guitarist to ditch school at 15\, play his fingers\nbloody throughout the south\, and turn apathy into acclaim for early albums Left My Soul in\nMemphis (2019) and Little Black Flies (2021).\nEddie spent his first quarter-century admiring Capricorn from afar. But in December 2021\, the\n26-year-old finally put his thumbprint on the studio’s mythology\, corralling an eleven-strong\ngroup of the American South’s best roots musicians to track his third album. “There was\noverwhelming excitement at being in such a legendary studio\,” he says. “But we hugged and\ngot right to work. Everyone was joyous\, loving\, and flat-out playing their asses off.”\nYou don’t come to Capricorn Studios for polish. Frozen in time since its opening day in 1969\, the\nmojo from sessions by giants like the Allman Brothers and Bonnie Bramlett still hangs in the air\,\nwhile the recording philosophy remains gloriously raw. That suited Eddie\, whose output has\nbeen celebrated for its warts-and-all snapshot of what went down. “In a world where everyone\nis trying to sound the best\, I’m trying to sound like me\,” he reasons. “I always want the listener\nto feel like they’re in the room with us. So I’d leave it in if a drum pedal squeaked or someone\nlaughed during a take on the Capricorn album. It’s our way of putting a stamp on the song.”\nEddie’s old-school ethos goes way back. Born Brooks Mason in June 1996\, he acquired his first\nguitar aged six\, “One of those with the speaker in it – the most bang for your buck\, y’know?”\,\nignored the prevailing pop scene at Oak Grove High School in favor of local heroes like Sean\nCostello and studied “older cats” like Muddy Waters\, Howlin’ Wolf\, Freddie King\, and Rory\nGallagher “to see what made them groove and tick.” His shoot-from-the-lip lyrics adds Eddie\ncame from family fish fries\, where his Uncle Brian “taught me to make people laugh\, how to\nhold an audience’s attention.”\nWhen Eddie infiltrated his home state’s live circuit – first with covers band The Smokin’ Frogs\,\nthen its more adept blues-rock offshoot\, The Georgia Flood – he quickly pricked up ears\neverywhere he played. His artistic vision became full realized when he killed Brooks Mason and\nadopted the solo moniker that promises an electrifying night out\, “Eddie 9 Volt”.\n“There are too many Joe Schmo r&b bands\,” he reasons. “I was on the road with another band\,\nand we were talking like mobsters. So we gave each other names – mine was Eddie.”\nAlready\, there has been massive acclaim for his early output\, with Left My Soul in Memphis\ndubbed “fresh and life-affirming” by Rock & Blues Muse and Little Black Flies praised by Classic\nRock as “the most instinctive blues you’ll hear all year.” But as the Capricorn sessions ticked\ncloser\, Eddie fused the nervous energy into his best songs yet. “Coming off a straight blues\nrecord\, I wanted to show people we’re more than that\,” he reflects. “I was listening to Muscle\nShoals and soul\, a lot of music recorded at Capricorn in the late-’60s too. So we spent way more\ntime crafting the new tunes. Each song took a week to write\, instead of five in one night like\nLittle Black Flies.” \n \n“Beg\, Steal and Borrow” is ballsy soul with Eddie’s spit flecking the mic. “Yella Alligator” is as\nswampy-sounding as the title\, with slide guitars lapping around cardboard-box beats. Bout To\n“Make Me Leave Home” is a propulsive shuffle\, Eddie’s vocal seemingly made up in the\nmoment. The gospel-touched “Are We Through” catches a breath before How Long drapes\nmellow organ over bone-dry riffs. “It’s Goin’ Down” fuses porch blues with psychedelic\nwoodwind\, while “Tryin’ To Get By” brings brassy strut while concealing lyrics from the\nperspective of a man on a downward spiral\, surviving on the crumbs of a love affair. “The lyrics\nand meanings of these new songs are way deeper\,” says Eddie. “Take the song “It’s Goin’\nDown”. It’s really about my struggle with alcohol\, the dangerous nightlife of bars\, and the drugs\noffered to you in the music industry. But then\, one of my favorite tunes\, “Yella Alligator\,” is\nabout a fictional psychedelic party in the bayou…”\nLikewise\, Capricorn is an album of thrilling musical contrasts. Bob Dylan’s “Down Along\nthe Cove” is a pugnacious blues-rocker\, followed by Khristie French’s gossamer lead vocal on\nthe spiritual Mary Don’t You Weep. Mellow Missouri is dusty as a great lost soul session\, while\nbrass punches through the glassy chords of “I’m Lonely”. Finally\, the album ends with Eddie’s\nlaughter as he realizes he has no more to give: “I gotta come out of this room…!”\nNever meet your heroes\, they say\, and many young artists have been overwhelmed by\nwalking the holy ground of their dream studios. At Capricorn\, Eddie 9V breathed in the history –\nbut the album he spat out is worthy of sharing the name\, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with\nthe studio’s greatest hits and taking music back to the golden age. “We made this record\,” he\nconsiders\, “the way they would have done in 1969
