SUMMARY:Fred Eaglesmith - Sportsmens
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nFred Eaglesmith \nSatruday\, October 10\, 2026 8pm  \n$50.00 + Online Fee \n \nFRED EAGLESMITH \n& The Full Band \nFred Eaglesmith has played them all; from television’s The Late Show with David Letterman to the legendary Grand Ole Opry in Nashville to the refined acoustics of the Lincoln Center\, but this fall\, Canada’s most uncompromising troubadour brings his whip-smart songwriting and road-tested show back to the very communites that inspired him. \nAnd you won’t want to miss it. \nThe Juno Award winning poet of rural Canada has spent four decades turning service station stories\, county fair romances\, broken down old tractors\, and gravel roads into timeless songs. His devoted fan base\, affectionately known as ‘Fred Heads’ and a reputation for delivering shows that are equal parts intimate and electrifying have established this founder of alt-country as the benchmark for his contemporaries as well as aspiring artists. Eaglesmith’s songs\, filled with wit\, heart\, and unvarnished truth have been covered by the likes of Alan Jackson\, Toby Keith\, Miranda Lambert and countless others. Over 120 artists from Bluegrass to Punk have recorded his popular tune\, “Alcohol & Pills.” His hit\, “Trucker Speed\,” has been named to the 100 Top Americana Songs of All Time and garnered over 60 million views with over 6 thousand independent videos having been created on Tik Tok. \n  \nFor the last 15 years\,Eaglesmith has been joined by Texas-born\, multi-instrumentalist\, Tif Ginn\, who also happens to be his wife. Together they have developed a musical symbiosis that only comes from countless miles\, shared stages and an undenyable chemistry. And now with the addition of their band\, which includes their 16 year old\, 30 year old songs land like fresh revelations and new tunes take shape in real time. \n  \nEaglesmith carries the weight of a legend lightly. After a lifetime of touring and 25 albums under his belt he’d have every right to rest on his laurels. Instead\, he’s doing what he’s always done: pointing the truck toward Canada’s backroads\, where the next great night of music waits to be sparked. His signature sound of country soul & rock energy with his between-song tales only he can tell- equally hilarious & heartbreaking\, make the Fred Eaglesmith Show unmatched. Fred doesn’t just perform in these small towns\, he plugs into their heartbeat-after all these years\, that’s still his superpower.

SUMMARY:The Gibson Brothers - Sportsmens
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nThe Gibson Brothers \nSunday\, October 4\, 2026 $30.00 + Online Fees \n4pm Doors\, 6pm Showtime \n \n \n  \nThe Gibson Brothers \nThere’s a reason why Ricky Skaggs pulled Eric and Leigh Gibson off the stage at the Ryman \ntwo decades ago and offered to produce their debut record. The same thing that led David \nFerguson and Grammy Award winning producer and Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach to \nco‑write and produce their 14th album “Mockingbird” (2018) and release it on his own label Easy \nEye Sound alongside cultural icons such as Hank Williams Jr. and Dr. John: The Gibson \nBrothers are the real deal. They can pick. They can sing. And they can write a damn good \ncountry song. They’ve won about every bluegrass award you can name and released albums on \nalmost every Premier Americana label you can think of including Sugar Hill and Rounder\, and\, if \nthat’s not enough\, their songs have been recorded by bluegrass legends no less than Del \nMcCoury. It’s a resume almost anybody in country music would be proud to have. But despite all \nof this\, The Gibson Brothers are not yet household names. Their latest album\, \n“Darkest Hour\,” produced by dobro master Jerry Douglas might just change that. \nAs soon as you hear Leigh singing with Alison Krauss [“I Feel The Same Way As You”] on the \nnew project you realize that his voice is as good as anyone in music today. Add the brother \nharmony to that and they have something truly unique. While “Mockingbird” featured gorgeous \nproduction\, recreating the sound on stage was difficult. \n“We put together a little band to go out and try to recreate it\,” \nEric told me\, but we couldn’t. We would have to have such a huge band to \ntry to recreate that record\, but we did the best we could.” \nDouglas—who has won 14 Grammy awards and backed up everyone from Ray Charles to Paul \nSimon and George Jones—wanted to make a record they could actually play on the road. So he \npicked the best songs (out of dozens) and squirreled them away in Sound Emporium’s Studio B. \nBut then the pandemic hit. \n“We did our last shows in March of 2020\, ” Eric told me. \n“We were in Nashville the week everything was shutting down. It was surreal\, but Jerry was like\, \n‘Guys\, the world’s going crazy. Let’s let this be our little cocoon. \n’ And we did. We cut all of the acoustic stuff and then went home and didn’t play any more gigs until things started opening. \nThen we went back and finished the record with Jerry in February of 2021.” \nThe result is arguably the strongest record The Gibson Brothers have ever made. The songs \nrecorded in the first recording period featured Mike Barber (bass)\, Justin Moses (mandolin)\, \nEamon McGloughlin (fiddle)\, and of course\, Jerry Douglas\, adding in John Gardner (drums)\, \nGuthrie Trapp (electric guitar)\, and Todd Parks (bass) for the final tracks\, \n“Darkest Hour” showcases just how easily Eric and Leigh move from what Dan Auerbach dubbed “country soul” \n(“I Go Driving”) to high octane bluegrass (“What a Difference A Day Makes” and “Dust”) with \nDouglas always keeping the spotlight on the songs themselves. \n“That’s what I love about those guys\,” Douglas told me “they are just great songwriters.” \nGrowing up on a dairy farm in northern New York and then traveling around the world in a \nbluegrass band has given them a unique vantage point on life\, and the songs on “Darkest Hour” \nare a testament to that. “Jerry wanted to hear everything we’d written\,” Eric told me\, “so we just \nsent him songs: brand new songs\, old songs\, there’s stuff on that record 20 years old that we \nnever recorded. We wanted to see what he would do with us as singer‑songwriters. We respect \nhim that much. Some of my favorite records are Jerry Douglas produced records. He didn’t \ndisappoint.” \nIf The Gibson Brothers had stayed in Nashville in 1999 they might possibly be Grand Ole Opry \nmembers by now. At the very least they would be hit songwriters on Music Row. But\, just like \ntheir buddy Del McCoury\, they chose family over success (McCoury was in his 50s when he \nmoved to Nashville and didn’t really see major success until he was approaching 60). All they \nneed is someone to shine a light on them.Their talent level is well‑established\, the only \nproducers they have ever worked with are Ricky Skaggs\, Dan Auerbach\, David Ferguson \nandJerry Douglas. I dare say not many musicians can stack up a list of producers that strong. \nFor The Gibson Brothers though\, they just want to keep writing\, singing\, and standing on a \nstage.

SUMMARY:Micky and the Motorcars (Acoustic) / Jason Eady - Sportsmens
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nMicky and the Motorcars (Acoustic) / Jason Eady \nSaturday\, October 3\, 2026 8pm $25.00 + Online Fee \n \n \n  \nFor a handful of summers about 30 years ago\, tourists who wandered into a large dancehall in Stanley\, Idaho\, witnessed a family tradition finding new life. Young and old sat shoulder-to-shoulder\, taking a break from the town’s mountain hikes and river campgrounds to take in Muzzie Braun and the Boys––a local family band who’d made it to the Grand Ole Opry\, effortlessly spouted cowboy poetry and Western swing at gatherings around the country\, and featured Muzzie’s four young sons––precocious boys with rock-and-roll futures. \n  \n“There were kids running around\, people dancing\,” says Micky Braun\, the youngest brother who first climbed on stage to join the family when he was about five years-old. “Gary and I’d get up and play a couple of songs\, then we’d get off and the older brothers would stay up and play a couple more. It’s pretty funny\, looking back on it.” He laughs a little\, then adds\, still smiling\, “That’s how we got started playing.” \n  \nThe Braun brothers never stopped. Big brothers Cody and Willy started Reckless Kelly\, and Micky and Gary left Idaho for Austin and started Micky and the Motorcars\, a road-dogging favorite whose nonstop tour for the last 17 years has defined not just the lives of the brothers\, but also shaped Austin’s roots-rock resurgence that has played out over the last two decades. With their anticipated new album Long Time Comin’\, the Motorcars cement their place as elder statesmen of that alt-country scene who have managed to master that ever-elusive blend of artistic familiarity and surprise. \n  \n“I hope people take the time to hear the album as a whole\, and I hope they like it\,” Gary says from his home in Austin. “I think this one is a little bit better.” He pauses and laughs as he drawls\, “So I hope they like it a little more.”  \n  \nFor the Motorcars\, the question is never really whether to tour but where to play next. Gary––who handles guitar\, mandolin\, harmonica\, harmonies\, and occasionally lead vocals––and Micky\, lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist\, are joined in the Motorcars by Andy Carrell on bass\, Bobby Paugh on drums and percussion\, and new bandmate Pablo Trujillo on guitar. The combination of familiar and fresh players has reinvigorated the Motorcars’ live show\, which buzzes through a low-key rock-and-roll rapture built on grooves and the Brauns’ signature harmonies. \n  \nA mix of new and old also shaped the Long Time Comin’ recording process. Produced by Keith Gattis\, the 11-song album relied in part on Gattis’ go-to Nashville studio players––a first for the Motorcars. “It still sounds like Micky and the Motorcars\, but it was fun working with different guys who we’d never worked with before\,” Micky says. “They’ve been Keith’s band for 15 years. He can say\, ‘Give me a shuffle with a boom-chuck\,’ and they know what he’s talking about.”  \n  \nThe band isn’t the only change on Long Time Comin’. Gary\, who has always contributed a song or two to Motorcar records\, wrote or co-wrote six of the album’s tracks and sings every tune he penned. “I don’t think I decided to really write more––I think I just got better at it and worked a little harder at it the past couple of years\,” Gary says. “In the past\, I just let Micky do it because he was good at it. It was easy for me not to do it.”  \n  \nMicky loves the shift. “It’s almost a split album between the two of us on lead vocal––very different from our normal\,” he says. “I think our fans will enjoy it. They always love the songs Gary sings live. They always want him to sing more.”  \n  \nThe album kicks off with the ambling “Road to You.” Written by Micky and Courtney Patton\, the rollicking singalong is classic Motorcars and an ideal welcome mat for the collection. Sauntering “Rodeo Girl” swings and punches up the pace\, before “Alone Again Tonight”––a Gary track written with Gattis––watches loneliness with empathetic ache.  \n  \nSeveral tracks take note of the universal search for comfort––even when it’s not the stuff of fairytales or even particularly dignified. Over crunchy guitars\, “Stranger Tonight” captures an evening’s quest for no-strings companionship. “It was an idea I had just watching people at bars––that lonely girl I saw time and time again but with a different set of glasses\, over and over\,” Gary says. “It seems like everybody can relate to that––out looking for something new that doesn’t have to be love.” \n  \nSweet and sad\, “Break My Heart\,” another track penned by Gary with Jeff Crosby\, looks back after the end of a relationship. “You’re not mad anymore but you’re thankful of the good times\,” Gary says. “It’s also about finding yourself again. It’s a moving-on song.” Quiet and sparse\, the Gary-penned “Run into You” details a longing to cross paths with an ex-lover who’s moved on with heartbreaking clarity. \n  \nAnchored by crying B-3 organ\, “Hold This Town Together” explores the struggle to enjoy what once was easy after the loss of someone who’ll never come back. After years of trying\, Micky wrote the song for Mark\, a friend and the Motorcars’ first bassist\, who passed away. “Hold This Town\,” written by Micky and Jeff Crosby\, muses over the hometown faces and places that never change. “There are the same people at the same bars\, the same people working at the grocery stores\,” Micky says\, then adds with a laugh\, “It’s kind of a depressing party song.” Another Jeff Crosby-Micky collaboration\, “Thank My Mother’s God” pays beautiful tribute to moms and their devotion to their black sheep\, running wild. \n  \nTwo album standouts stand tall: “Lions of Kandahar\,” written by Gary alone\, and the title track\, which Micky penned with master songwriter Bruce Robison. Over instrumentation that evokes the tense hum of Middle Eastern military activity\, “Lions of Kandahar” follows a deployment from a first-person perspective. The result is jarring\, compelling\, and deeply human––a breathtaking piece of songwriting that took five years to complete. Winsome “Long Time Comin’” is an ode to the satisfaction of patience and perseverance rewarded in different forms––a stunning tapestry that also reflects the road to the album itself. \n  \nGuitars and songs at the ready\, Micky and Gary hope most of all that their sprawling cross-continental fanbase connect with Long TimeComin’\, a collection four years in the making. “If you can put your heart on your sleeve and say it\, it’s the best medicine for people\,” Micky says\, reflecting on the album. “They can lock into it and enjoy the ride.”  \n  \n \n  \nWith a decades-long commitment to his craft as a songwriter\, Jason Eady has built his career on bringing his unique perspective to a variety of genres\, from the “groove centered” blues of his native Mississippi to the classic sound of Texas\, the place he calls home. Known by critics and fans alike for his thoughtful\, soulful writing and multi-genre mastery\, Eady’s acumen as an artist is rooted in his ability to balance musical exploration with tradition–the result is an artist who delivers authentic songs that detail slices of Eady’s life that resonate with audiences\, whether he’s accompanied by bluegrass pickers or pedal steel. At the heart of Eady’s music is the song and his ability–proven by time and his extensive accolades–to remain loyal and authentic to himself while pushing history telling beyond the conventions of genre and form.

DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nDanielle Nicole \nWednesday\, September 30\, 2026 5pm Doors\, 7pm Show \n$25.00 + Online Fee \n \n \n  \n“That girl gets down to the nitty gritty.” Koko Taylor  \n  \nDanielle Nicole\, singer\, bassist and songwriter hailing from Kansas City\, Missouri\, has spent her life making music and pleasing fans\, domestically and abroad. Nicole was initially influenced by her parents playing in bands and working around the KC music scene. She recalls seeing her father playing blues guitar and her mother singing with the group Little Eva and The Works and it set off a switch. With her two brothers\, Nick and Kris\, they formed the “Heavy Blues” band Trampled Under Foot\, which found initial popularity in the Midwest\, then exploded worldwide for over 10 years.  \n  \nThere has been no shortage of praise; Guitar World stated\, “Danielle Nicole has won respect and admiration throughout the American blues scene for her soulful\, inventive playing and tireless work ethic.” Blues Music Magazine effused\, “Nicole brings it\, bakes it\, and serves it up blazing on a silver soul-rocking platter.” The Kansas City Star declared\, “Blues and soul vocalists tend to improve as they age. Bettye LaVette is among the artists who became increasingly believable as she matured. Danielle Nicole appears to be following in her footsteps.” \nDanielle embarked on her solo career with Wolf Den (2015)\, which peaked at #2 on the Billboard Blues charts and amassed 7.5 million Spotify streams. Cry No More (2018) followed\, the record was nominated for a Grammy in the contemporary blues category and debuted at number one in the Billboard Blues Charts – it also boasts over Spotify streams in excess of 10 million. SUMMARY:Dale Watson & His Lone Stars - Sportsmens
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nDale Watson & His Lone Stars \nTuesday\, September 29\, 2026 5pm Doors\, 7pm Showtime \n$35.00+ Online Fee \n \njan 12\, 2026\, Dale Watson photographed in New York City\n \nDale Watson is a living legend of American roots music. With Texas-sized defiance and drive\, he’s spent four decades flying the flag for his own brand of honky-tonk\, outlaw country\, western swing\, and rockabilly. That signature sound has a name — “Ameripolitan” — and its originator is Watson himself: a singer\, songwriter\, guitarist\, producer\, actor\, cultural architect\, and rule-breaking traditionalist for the modern world\, championing the traditions that fly in the face of the homogenous mainstream. \n  \nMore than 30 albums stand between Watson’s teenage years in Texas\, where he cut his teeth on Houston’s honky-tonk circuit\, and his latest release\, 2026’s Unwanted. That body of work hasn’t just brought him an international audience stretching from East Texas to Europe with TV appearances on major national platforms like PBS’s Austin City Limits\, Jimmy Kimmel Live!\, and The Late Show with David Letterman; it’s also cemented his reputation as a musical maverick who’s worthy of sharing the same stage as his heroes\, with shows alongside Merle Haggard\, Johnny Cash\, Willie Nelson\, and Kris Kristofferson. \n  \nWith Unwanted\, he fires another double-barreled shotgun blast of country twang and honky-tonk bang. It’s a raw\, rowdy record\, recorded in Austin and Memphis — two cities that have always lived large in Watson’s history — and fueled by the heartaches\, hard-won lessons\, and high-speed thrills of a life largely logged on the road. Singing with a booming voice that could cut through the chaos of a packed dancehall\, Watson runs the show like a roots-rock ringleader. He salutes his vices on the galloping “Willie Waylon and Whiskey\,” reflects upon a lifetime of loss with the gorgeous ballad “If You Really Loved Me (Outlive Me)\,” and gets wistfully reflective on “Life is Like a Song.” Entirely written and produced by Watson\, Unwanted is the sound of an Ameripolitan diehard with plenty of life left in the tank\, speeding toward a horizon of his own making. \n  \nIf the heart of American music beats loudest where tradition and innovation intersect\, then Dale Watson’s albums are the lifeblood of a sound that never dies.

DESCRIPTION:The Cave presents \nSing On\, Neighbor\, Sing! They are\nthe songs of Woody Guthrie\, the restless American poet\, troubadour and\nchronicler whose music gave voice to working people\, wanderers\, and\nordinary Americans trying to make their way through hard times. More\nthan eighty years later\, his songs remain funny\, angry\, stubborn\,\ncompassionate and all-too-relevant. \nRoots rockers Yellow Jack will open and close the night with an expanded\nlineup featuring the Ribbon of Highway Singers: Chris Jones (Skiffle\nMinstrels)\, Captain Tom (Captain Tom & the Hooligans)\, Tony Petrocelli\n(Talking Dead Heads) and Kathryn Koch (The Healing Committee). \nThe night will also include solo sets of Woody Guthrie songs from Tyler\nWestcott (Folkfaces)\, Captain Tom\, and Sally Schaefer and Tyler Bagwell\n(The Travesties). Songs will include “Pastures of Plenty\,” “Do Re Mi\,”\n“Hard Traveling\,” “Deportee\,” “This Land Is Your Land\,” “Union Maid\,”\n“So Long\, It’s Been Good to Know Ya” and plenty of the rougher\, stranger\ncorners of Woody’s songbook. \nAnd yes: it’s a singalong! Lyrics for the songs will be posted at\nyellowjackmusic.com/woody ahead of the show so you can learn them\,\nremember them or just get the choruses under your belt. We’ll also have\nprinted lyric sheets available. \nEvery artist on the bill comes to this music out of affection and\nadmiration for the words of Woody Guthrie\, which we think perfectly\nembody the spirit of our City of Good Neighbors. SUMMARY:The Nighthawks - Sportsmens
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nThe Nighthawks \nWednesday\, September 23\, 2026 \n5pm Doors\, 7pm Showtime \n$25.00 + Online Fee \n \n \n  \n“Established 1972” by The Nighthawks\,is an album that represents 50 years of Washington DC’s road warriors going strong. \nOn this landmark anniversary\, founder\, lead singer and harpmaster Mark Wenner is still at the helm\, while drummer Mark Stutso\,guitarist Dan Hovey and bassist Paul Pisciotta all share vocals and songwriting\, making this lineup one of the strongest ever. Decades of gigs and countless rabid fans have earned them the name “The Best Bar Band In The World.” More than a bar band or blues band\, as they’re frequently labeled\, this is a band that played with Carl Perkins in addition to Muddy Waters. \nIn March 2020\, with a brand-new recording to promote\, The Nighthawks did something previously unthinkable: They stopped in the middle of a Florida tour and drove home. Like so many other people\, the band members found themselves out of work as the coronavirus swept the country. Itching to play\, The Nighthawks found a couple of spaces large enough to stay apart while woodshedding new material. Previously\, the process had been a streamlined one: The band would rough out a dozen new tunes in an afternoon and perform them every night for a year or two before recording. But now there was time\, tons of it. Weeks turned into months. \nProduced by the Nighthawks and longtime compadre David Earl\, they took advantage of the pandemic slowdown to hunker down in Earl’s Severn Sound Studios in Annapolis\, Maryland and crank out fourteen new tracks in classic Nighthawks style. \nDan Hovey wrote a very relevant rocker\, “You Seem Distant.” Mark Stutso followed with a full blast “Coming and Going.” Florida friend Colin Kenny\, a.k.a. Raiford Starke\, wrote the soulful “West Memphis” and the band stylistically took it to Memphis. Stutso came up with “Gas Station Chicken” and everyone contributed to bringing in the funk. Hovey added three more: “Houseband\,” “Fuss and Fight\,” and the acoustic delight “Driving.” In between are British pub rock monster Gariant Watkins’ “Nobody”; Jimmy Reed’s “Take it Easy\,” featuring producer David Earl contributing the Eddie Taylor licks on guitar; Eddie Hinton’s version of Sam Cook’s “I’ll Come Running Back”; John Hammond’s version of Mose Allison’s “Ask Me Nice”; a wild version of the reggae classic “Johnny Too Bad”; an outtake rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Ain’t That Lovin’ You”; a Hillbilly interpretation of the Coasters’ “Run Red Run”; and half a dozen others that fell by the wayside. They’d play\, record\, rearrange\, and re-record til they got them just right. \nIn the tradition they set forth on Rock and Roll\, the band’s debut 1974 recording and mission statement\, the material is not bound by genre other than the widest range of American Roots Music.

SUMMARY:Will Hoge wsg John Tyler Wiley - Sportsmens
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nWill Hoge \nwsg John Tyler Wiley \nTuesday\, September 22\, 2026 $30.00 + Online Fee \n5pm Doors\, Showtime Doors \n \n \n  \nWill Hoge will release Sweet Misery\, the Grammy-nominated artist’s 15th studio album on Friday\, August 22. \nOn Sweet Misery\, Hoge reminds listeners that he isn’t afraid to break new ground – all while giving a keen nod to his rock and roll roots with the kind of grace and purpose that only comes with experience – without the baggage of predictability. \nIn Will’s own words – “Following the re-recording and re-releases of Carousel and Blackbird On A Lonely Wire I found myself really wanting to make a louder\, hooky\, rock-n-roll band record again. Good stories\, big choruses\, shit to make you play it loud and drive fast with the windows down. I was without a band so I enlisted a crew of folks who I love – folks that I believed could really help bring out the bigger ideas in the songs. I hope folks will find some headphones and give it a good\, loud listen. Top to bottom\, the way albums should be listened to.” \n  \nWill Hoge has a career whose milestones include Number One hits\, Grammy nods\, major-label record deals\, and hard-won independence. Years before Americana music received its own category at the Grammy Awards\, Hoge was on the frontlines\, helping to pilot and popularize the genre’s blend of American roots music. In the current digital era dominated by influencers seeking shortcuts to stardom\, Will Hoge proudly treads the scenic route\, immersing himself in the journey rather than fixating on the destination. \n  \n \n  \nJon Tyler Wiley is a seasoned touring/ session musician who has performed with a diverse range of acts such as Sister Hazel\, Will Hoge\, Stephen Kellogg\, Melodime\, Freddy Jones Band\, and Ron Holloway. After Wiley wrote and recorded his debut solo album\, performing all of the instruments himself\, he assembled a band of his close friends to bring the music to life. The band\, Jon Tyler Wiley & His Virginia Choir\, is made up of musicians who have performed with acts such as Keller Williams\, Larry Keel\, Wylder and  Lil’Maceo\, and the band has been called “A compelling concoction of Americana twang and anthemic guitar rock” (Amplify Music Mag) as well as “A group that you most definitely need to know\, [playing] arena-filling\, vibrant\, soaring Americana goodness” (Vents Magazine). Wiley’s songwriting is evocative of storytellers like Springsteen\, Petty\, and Isbell\, all while his guitar work keeps the listener on the brink of their seat. \n  \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWsrEIJJW9k\n  \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_K3Kd5oS1Wg

SUMMARY:Drivin N Cryin wsg Laid Back Country Picker - Sportsmens
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nDrivin N Cryin \nwsg Laid Back Country Picker \nSunday\, September 6\, 2026 4pm Doors\, 6pm Showtime \n$30.00 ($33.70 Online) \n \n \nDrivin N Cryin is an enduring American rock band whose roots-forward sound and uncompromising\nspirit have made them a vital force since forming in Atlanta\, Georgia in 1985. Blending Southern\nrock grit\, folk storytelling\, and hard-charging rock & roll\, the band built a reputation early on as a must-see live act and a songwriter’s band with depth far beyond trends. \nLed by singer-songwriter Kevn Kinney and anchored by bassist Tim Nielsen and drummer Dave\nJohnson\, Drivin N Cryin broke through nationally with a run of influential albums that helped define late-’80s and early-’90s American rock. Songs like “Fly Me Courageous\,” “Honeysuckle Blue\,” “Straight to Hell\,” “Build a Fire\,” and “Scarred But Smarter” became staples of rock and AAA radio\, with Fly Me Courageous earning Gold certification and remaining a cornerstone of the band’scatalog. \nWhile they emerged during the MTV era\, Drivin N Cryin never disappeared. Over four decades\,\nthey’ve remained a consistently touring\, recording band — releasing new music\, evolving their\nsound\, and cultivating a loyal\, multigenerational audience. Their influence extends well beyond\ntheir own recordings; “Straight to Hell” found new life through covers and collaborations that\nintroduced the song to entirely new audiences. \nThe band’s stature is reflected in both peer respect and formal recognition\, including induction into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame\, as well as Kinney’s induction into the Milwaukee Music Hall of Fame. Touring history includes shared stages with artists spanning multiple eras and genres\, The Who\, Hootie & The Blowfish\, The Black Crowes\, ZZ Top\, Soul Asylum\, Blackberry Smoke\, The\nMarshall Tucker Band\, Jason Isbell\, along with recent appearances on destination events like Rock Boat\, Outlaw Country Cruise\, and Moon Crush. \nTheir latest album\, Crushing Flowers\, marks a deliberate return to the band’s core. Stripped back to the original three-piece\, the record favors clarity\, chemistry\, and feel over excess — a confident\, back-to-basics statement from a band that knows exactly who it is. Rather than chasing nostalgia or novelty\, Crushing Flowers reinforces what has always set Drivin N Cryin apart: honest songs\, emotional weight\, and the unmistakable sound of a band still fully engaged in the work. \nNearly forty years in\, Drivin N Cryin remains a living\, breathing American rock band — not a revival act\, not a footnote\, but a continuing story still being written. \n \nLaid Back Country Picker and Honey are the Hillbilly Power Duo. Picking up where the White Stripes left off\, they deliver a blistering show\, equal parts 70s Guitar Rock\, Honky Tonk and Country Punk. They have toured internationally\, opening for the likes of Deep Purple as well as playing festivals and clubs across the US. Blurring the lines with wit\, humor and hot picking\, LB is his own genre.   \nImagine Waylon Jennings sitting in with Motorhead.

SUMMARY:Andy Thomas - Sportsmens
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nAndy Thomas \nWednesday\, August 26\, 2026 7pm \n$20.00 (+online fee) \n \n \nThere’s a heaviness when you listen to Andy Thomas’ latest album\, Highway Junkie. Not only from the swamp rock meets honkytonk melodies\, but also the underlying tone and hard truths of this whirlwind journey of a singer-songwriter pushing into the next phase of his promising career. \n“It’s crazy when you set everything aside and put your mind to something\,” Thomas says. “I’m a hard worker\, and this album is a product of that.” \nHailing from Richmond\, Virginia\, Thomas has worked his way up the ranks as an electrifying guitarist up and down the East Coast\, whether it’s fronting his own wild-n-out project The Trongone Band or being the six-string rocket fuel for the melodic muscle car that is acclaimed Americana act Yarn. \n“I’ve known for a long time that I was wired for this life\,” Thomas says of being a musician and performer. “[The road and the stage] feels like home for me. I love playing\, traveling\, and getting the inspiration to write — it’s where I feel most at peace.” \nProduced by fellow Richmond native and longtime friend Dave Schools\, the legendary bassist for Widespread Panic\, and captured at the renowned Spacebomb Studios\, Highway Junkie connects the dots of Thomas’ troubled past and hard-fought strength of self in the present. \nThe 12-LP is the culmination of years of trials and tribulations\, of triumphs and the continued resolve to harness one’s potential. But\, more so\, in the game of life for Thomas\, whose sobriety in recent years has become a deep source of stability and continued motivation — this unrelenting quest to seek out long-held dreams once thought to be too far beyond the horizon of one’s intent. \n“I’m still navigating [sobriety] every day\, but once I got into the thick of it\, after a few months\, I was able to find new things to replace ‘all that\,’” Thomas says candidly and happily. “I was able to refine my love for music\, and why I did it. I’ve got a story. I know I have a purpose on this earth\, and I need that to translate into my music — if I can beat this\, I can do anything.” \nWith Highway Junkie soon to released\, Thomas is already headlong into planning out an upcoming tour in support of the record. The wheels are turning — either along the endless pavement of the open road or within the restless mind of Thomas himself — amid this unfolding landscape of creativity and compassion he’s living and thriving in\, constantly fueled by his own unrelenting drive to see just what lies ahead for his music\, and for his life. \n“You just need to count the wins and be grateful\,” Thomas says. “And this album is a token of gratitude — this is why I’m doing everything I’m doing.”

SUMMARY:India Ramey - Sportsmens
DESCRIPTION:Sportsmens presents \nIndia Ramey \nSaturday\, August 22\, 2026 8pm $15.00 + Online Fee \n \n \nAfter the success of her fiery 2024 LP\, Baptized By The Blaze\, Nashville outlaw siren India Ramey is back with Villain Era\, out now\, via Copaco Recordds/Blue Élan. Baptized By The Blaze was the story of Ramey’s journey through the fire\, a harrowing passage toward healing and empowerment. Villain Era is firmly rooted in her own reckoning; it doesn’t ask for permission\, it kicks the door wide open. \n“This album is the ‘healed’ me\,” Ramey says. “I didn’t know how to have boundaries because I was such a people pleaser. When you live your life that way\, you lose sight of who you really are. I’ve spent the last few years finding my authentic self\, reclaiming my identity. The title track\, ‘Welcome To My Villain Era\,’ is me saying I’m not going to suffer fools anymore. I’m not compromising anymore. If my boundaries offend you\, I’ll happily play the villain in that story.” \nArmed with that conviction and a new batch of songs\, Ramey left the South for the first time to record in Los Angeles with two-time Grammy-nominated producer Eric Corne. Together\, they built a soundscape as cinematic as it is cathartic. Ramey\, whose fans have taken to calling her “The Woman In Black” and “the Wednesday Addams of country music\,” told Corne she wanted the album to sound like Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn had risen from the grave to score a Quentin Tarantino film. Corne assembled a powerhouse band to help her pull it off\, including Ted Russell Kamp (Shooter Jennings) on bass\, Eugene Edwards (Dwight Yoakam) and Chris Masterson (Steve Earle\, The Mastersons\, The Wallflowers) on guitar\, Eleanor Whitmore (Steve Earle & The Dukes\, The Mastersons) on fiddle\, Kevin Brown on drums\, Boo Bernstein (Emmylou Harris\, Dwight Yoakam) on pedal steel\, and Haley Spence Brown (The Doohickeys) on backing vocals. \n“He didn’t just listen to me\, he heard me\,” Ramey says of Corne. “The musicians were equally respectful of what my vision was\, and they went above and beyond. It was the most collaborative\, emboldening recording experience I’ve ever had.” \nThe result is Villain Era: ten spaghetti western–meets–honky tonk vignettes\, penned solely by Ramey\, laced with grit\, gallows humor\, and emotional precision.  \nWith the first notes of opener “We Ride at Dawn\,” Ramey puts her boots on the ground and reclaims her territory. A callback to “King of the Ashes” from her 2020 LP Shallow Graves\, the song rises from the rubble with reverb\, ghostly pedal steel\, and the promise of revenge from the women who survived. On “Scattered and Smothered\,” Ramey trades the battlefield for a Waffle House booth at 2 a.m.\, where heartbreak meets hangover in a haze of regret. “Well I’m a hot mess\, I must confess / Ever since he brought up takin’ next steps / And my drunk ass needs some hash browns and scrambled eggs\,” she sings\, As patrons fight\, chairs fly\, and late-night shenanigans ensue in the background\, our heroine is lost in thought\, hoping the grease soaks up the memories of the night she’s attempting to put in her rearview.  \nThe tone turns bittersweet on “Crying in My Lingerie\,” a deceptively upbeat breakup song that captures the loneliness of a woman who’s realizing her marriage is over. Doing her best to fan the flames of something long since gone\, she drowns her sorrows in boxed wine. Dressed in the now-meaningless symbols of desire and devotion\, she realizes she’s become a divorcee in waiting.  \nThroughout Villain Era\, Ramey explores what it means to step fully into oneself after years of just trying to survive. “There’s a lot of freedom in knowing yourself\,” she says. “It makes you feral. But in these times\, joy is resistance. We should be having some fun\, too.”  \nSaving Country Music once wrote\, “Many of the women in country music these days love to sing about lighting stuff on fire to symbolically tease their empowerment. With India Ramey\, you think she’ll actually haul off and do it.” It’s an apt description for an artist who doesn’t just tell stories of strength\, she lives them out loud. \nWith six studio albums under her belt\, Ramey continues to be one of country music’s fiercest truth-tellers. Her 2017 breakout Snake Handler landed her on Rolling Stone’s “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know.” Her 2020 “post-apocalyptic western” album\, Shallow Graves\, earned international recognition\, debuting at #6 on the Euro Americana Chart. Then came 2024’s Baptized By The Blaze\, a searing chronicle of her battle with a dependence on prescribed medication and PTSD stemming from childhood trauma. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes\, she sang on the title track\, “Yesterday I set myself on fire / With my own hands I built that funeral pyre / I built it so high the flames touched the sky / And now I am alive because I died.” \nNow\, with Villain Era\, India Ramey stands unapologetically in her power\, delivering songs that cut deep and laugh loudly\, songs that balance the weight of lived experience with the freedom of release.

SUMMARY:Snowmen - The Cave
DESCRIPTION:The Cave presents \nSnowmen \nThursday\, August 20\, 2026 6pm Doors\, 7pm Showtime \n$15ad Online Fee or $20 at the door \n \nSNOWMEN is a band from New York City\, emerging from college friendships\, dimly-lit practice spaces\, and a shared reverence for downtown rock. Following a string of wild shows as a cover band\, the group realized they had found something of their own. \nTheir debut album\, A Kick to the Face\, captures that same intensity of their live shows. The title speaks to their sonic identity\, and to the struggles of a band making music in their early years. Recorded in a rehearsal space over a single month\, with almost no budget and one microphone\, A Kick to the Face is a testament to creativity under pressure. \nIntrospective and charged with adrenaline\, SNOWMEN is everything that makes New York music exciting right now.
