Artemisia Xene was born in the Southern part of NY but spends her life traveling. Musical influences range from Mississippi Blues, Classic Rock, Flamenco, Arabic, Alternative, jazz and more. Performing mostly instantly-catchy originals, to favorites from White Stripes to Fleetwood Mac, she keeps the groove with her Martin guitar, a stomp pedal and a voice which is deep and bluesy one minute, high and ethereal the next.

The Fredtown Stompers began as an ensemble of students (including one
faculty member) from The State University of New York at Fredonia in
January of 2006. The band is renowned for performing traditional Dixieland
and Hot Jazz hits that span from old classics to nontraditional modern
staples. Winners of JazzBuffalo’s 2016 Best Performance (at the Lewiston Jazz Fest) and 2016 opener for the BPO’s tribute to David Bowie Thursdays at Canalside concert!

The band plays for the love of the music and the people. Their spirited New
Orleans style of playing attracts young and old to create an infectious
enthusiasm that gets your feet tapping and sends the whole crowd into a
dancing frenzy.
